Breaking: Bruins lose two big pieces ahead of road trip

Boston Bruins head coach Bruce Cassidy confirmed today that forwards Anders Bjork and Brad Marchand will not travel with the team on their upcoming Western road trip that will see them face the Anaheim Ducks, Los Angeles Kings and San Jose Sharks.

It’s tough news for a team who has lost three straight and has just two wins in their past eight games. Bjork, a 21-year-old rookie has put up three goals and nine points in 16 games playing big time minutes for a banged up B’s squad.

Marchand, of course, is one of the team’s biggest point producers with eight goals and 15 points in just 14 games. His absence will be felt throughout the lineup, as Cassidy scrambles to find someone to take his spot on the team’s top line alongside David Pastrnak and Patrice Bergeron.
