With the Playoffs well under way, teams want to make sure they have all the right pieces in place for a deep run. Goalies are fragile commodities and you need to be prepared for everything with them.
A few minutes ago, the Bruins recalled Malcolm Subban from the Providence Bruins.
Subban takes the place of Zane McIntyre, who is sent back to the Providence Bruins in exchange.
This recall is not made based on known injuries or anything of that sort. During the late stage of the season and the Playoffs, teams simply carry three goalies in the roster to make sure they don't have to dress the assistant coach as a backup goalie in case of an injury. You can breath normally again.
