The Boston Bruins have announced that the team has recalled forwards Trent Frederic and Zach Senyshyn from Providence on an emergency basis on Wednesday.

Frederic made his NHL debut earlier this season and has taken part in 13 games with Boston so far this year.

He has also skated in 51 games with Providence this season, tallying 11 goals and 11 assists for 22 points with 67 penalty minutes and a plus-four rating. He was originally selected by Boston in the first round, 29th overall of the 2016 NHL Entry Draft.

Another first rounder was recalled as 22-year-old Senyshyn gets the call up for the first time of his career. He is currently in his second professional season with Providence and has tallied 14 goals and 10 assists for 24 points in 62 games. In his first season with the club in 2017-18, the 6-foot-3, 196-pound forward posted 12 goals and 14 assists for 26 points in 66 games.

He originally selected by Boston in the first round, 15th overall of the 2015 NHL Entry Draft.

The Bruins might be looking to rest some veteran players in the last stretch of the regular season calendar. Boston has two games left as they face the Minnesota Wild on Thursday night and finished the season against the best team of the league, the Tampa Bay Lighting on Saturday.
