Not only is National Hockey League superstar Patrice Bergeron one of the most respected players in the league, but he's also one of the very best players on the Boston Bruins roster.
That's why the latest official update from the Bruins website may be a very big cause for concern among Bruins fans, because once again Bergeron has been ruled out due to an ongoing injury issue.
The injury sidelined Bergeron during the preseason but despite that he was expected to be ready to go come the start of the regular season. This now will be his third straight game missed by Bergeron, and the Bruins have called up an extra man for their upcoming road trip, something that has led to speculation Bergeron may miss even more games.
Comments made by head coach Bruce Cassidy also did not leave much room for hope surrounding Bergeron's ongoing injury.
"We're aiming for the weekend," said Cassidy as per NHL.com. "I don't know if it's gotten worse - he just hasn't responded well to treatment…probably the better way to put it."
