The Boston Bruins are missing a big piece of their roster today and it may start being a cause for concern among some members of the Boston Bruins fan base.

First, according to a breaking news report from Boston Bruins insider Joe Haggerty of NBC Sports it appears that veteran forward Daivd Krejci was absent from practice on Saturday morning. This is a cause for concern not only due to the fact that the Bruins are now just days away from the start of the 2019 Stanley Cup Final, but also due to the fact that Krejci has now been missing since at least Thursday of this week. We know that Krejci is battling some form of illness due to the fact that he was sent home this week prior to Thursday's intra-squad scrimmage at the Garden as a result of a sickness or illness, but we do not know any more details than those at this time.

Obviously there has to be a measure of precaution here on the part of the Bruins who do not want to see some type of virus or bug spreading through their entire locker room ahead of some of the most important games in that franchise's storied history. However it is unclear how much of Krejci's absence is an attempt to quarantine him away from the other players and how much of it is being caused by the fact that he is genuinely too sick to be stepping out onto the ice with his teammates in practice.

The loss of Krejci would of course be a huge loss for the Boston Bruins heading into the Stanley Cup Final but to be clear there has been no indication that Krejci will not be ready to go come puck drop in Game 1. Even should he end up being forced to miss part of that series against the St. Louis Blues the Bruins will not be the only team struggling through health concerns in the Final. A report from the St. Louis Post Dispatch has just revealed that there are now concerns about whether or not one of St. Louis' defensemen will be good to go come the Stanley Cup Final.
