In just over a week, Canada will begin its quest for another goal medal at the Winter Olympics. The Canadian team will face off against Switzerland on Feb. 15, and we know now who will captain the Canadian crew.

On Thursday, it has been announced that veteran Chris Kelly has been named captain of Canada’s men’s hockey team at the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics.

A veteran of 833 games in the National Hockey League, Kelly won a Stanley Cup with the Boston Bruins back in 2011. Last season, he took part in 82 games with the Ottawa Senators and has played in 16 games with Ottawa’s American Hockey League affiliate this season before getting the call for the Winter Games.

Kelly will have Rene Bourque, Andrew Ebbett, Chris Lee and Derek Roy, who will rotate as alternate captains, as part of the leadership group during the Olympic tournament.

Maxim Noreau will also serve as part of Canada’s leadership group without an A on his jersey.
