Breaking: Canucks cut top prospect
Keystone Press

According to a report from Sportsnet 650’s Adam Forsythe, the Vancouver Canucks have assigned forward Jonathan Dahlen to the team’s AHL affiliate the Utica Comets.

Dahlen, of course, was acquired from the Ottawa Senators at last year’s NHL Trade Deadline in exchange for Canucks legend Alex Burrows. Dahlen is a tantalizing prospect in the Canucks system and fans will be watching him closely in Utica this season.

In 45 games with Timra of the Swedish Elite League’s second division, Dahlen put up 25 goals and 44 points in 2016-17. Look for the 19-year-old Swede to play big minutes in his first season of pro hockey in North America in 2017-18.
