In case you missed it, Vancouver Canucks defenseman Chris Tanev took a nasty hit from Anaheim Ducks captain Ryan Getzlaf that forced him from the game.

Here’s the play in question:



Tanev left the game for treatment but so far the team has yet to comment on his status.

Canucks insider Jeff Paterson though uncovered this little tidbit ahead of tonight’s game against the Los Angeles Kings… the Canucks have officially placed Tanev on the injured reserve

Forward Jake Virtanen, who also took a hit from Getzlaf, is also out of the lineup for tonight’s’ game against the Kings.



Here’s the blind side hit that took Virtanen out of action: 



As a result the Canucks have elected to dress Nikolay Goldolbin in Virtanen’s spot for tonight’s game and have called up defenceman Guillaume Brisebois for his first NHL game.
