The UFA market is about to heat up and already we get echoes of who will be going where. Technically, we shouldn't hear about trades and signature until tomorrow, but 2017 being what it is, we get the scoop ahead of time.

Anyhow, we just learned the Canucks will be signing a two-year deal with Swedish goalie Anders Nilsson.

The 6'5'', 229 lbs 27 years old goalie has been with 4 NHL teams already and played as a backup for Robin Lehner in Buffalo most recently. He averaged a 2.67 GAA and a .923 save percentage last season, which is quite decent. He shows a steady improvement pace since his 2009 3rd round picking by the Islanders.

He will most probably act as backup for Jacob Markstrom since Ryan Miller will be hitting the UFA market. Nilsson will surely look to be the best team player possible in the Vancouver squad and prove his worth to the rest of the league with this two-years deal in his pocket.

Welcome to Vancouver, Anders!
