BREAKING: Capitals make a rare playoff gameday call-up
Keystone Press

The Washington Capitals, looking down the barrel of ANOTHER disappointing playoff showing, have decided to make a roster change. Unfortunately, it’s unlikely to have much of an impact on the team’s lineup for game 3 against the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Capitals general manager Brian MacLellan announced this morning that the team has recalled forward Chandler Stephenson from their AHL affiliate in Hershey. Stephenson went pointless in only played four games for the Capitals this season, but put up 10 goals and 38 points for the Hershey Bears. He’s a former third round selection, 77th overall, of the Capitals from the 2012 NHL Entry Draft.

It’s unclear whether Stephenson will make his way into the Caps lineup, or merely take in tonight’s action from the press box with the rest of the team’s black aces. One thing’s for sure, if the Caps can’t get a win tonight, it doesn’t really matter who’s in the lineup come game 4.
