The Washington Capitals have announced a contract signing.

According to a report from the Capitals official website, the team has re-signed former 2013 first round pick Andre Burakovsky to a two-year deal. The Capitals have also revealed the financial details of the deal, and Burakovsky will earn $6 million over those two seasons.

It's been a very subdued offseason for the Washington Capitals and this move certainly won't be reinvigorating their fan base after another difficult playoff exit at the hands of the Pittsburgh Penguins.

That being said Burakovsky is a solid player, having put up 12 goals and 23 assists for 35 points in just 64 games last season as well as a career high plus minus rating of +13, and this is a good signing at a very reasonable price for the Capitals.
