I know Burakovsky hasn’t been great but c’mon….

According to a report from Washington Post reporter Isabelle Khurshydyan, Washington Capitals head coach Barry Trotz has demoted winger Andre Burakovsky to the team’s third line in favor of… Tom Wilson.

You read that right. Fourth line pugilist Tom Wilson is expected to skate alongside Nicklas Backstrom and T.J. Oshie tomorrow night as the Caps take on the Detroit Red Wings at Little Caesars Arena in Detroit.

The team’s second line goes untouched with Evgeny Kuznetsov skating between captain Alex Ovechkin and rookie Jakub Vrana. Burakovsky will play with Lars Eller and Brett Connolly on the team’s third unit.

For what it’s worth Burakovsky is still goalless on the campaign, with just two assists in seven games. Over the weekend Trotz specifically targeted the young winger saying that he needs to hit the net more often. Maybe a stint on the checking line will help get the 22-year-old heads back in order?
