Breaking: Carey Price could be back in nets as early as this week.

Some big big news regarding the return of the National Hockey League's best goaltender.

According to a report from Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports, there is a very real possibility that Montreal Canadiens goaltender Carey Price could make his return to the net this Friday in an exhibition match with Team Canada in preparation for the World Cup of Hockey.

While Lavoie's English report was simply matter of fact, his French-language report included a few more details, details that will be particularly interesting to fans who have tracked Price's recovery this year.

Lavoie revealed that the reason Price is likely to be in goal for Team Canada's first exhibition match is because they want to remove all doubts about his ability to perform early. The question is of course who wants to eliminate those doubts? Is it Team Canada having doubts about Price's recovery? Or is Carey Price himself pushing for this because he wants the chance to prove all his doubters wrong?

Either way there will be a ton of people watching what would otherwise be a meaningless game on Friday.
