NHL insider Bob McKenzie has mentioned it several times this week: a lot of NHL clubs are looking at the trade market to get a boost up front. Mckenzie even added during a segment on TSN's Insider Trading that demand is exceeding supply with the Anaheim Ducks, Boston Bruins, Edmonton Oilers, Montreal Canadiens, Ottawa Senators and New York Rangers amongst teams looking for a top-9 forward.

On Thursday, the Columbus Blue Jackets placed centre Zac Dalpe on waivers.

Though Dalpe has no points in 10 games with Columbus this season, he did played well in preseason action. He was used by coach John Tortorella on the fourth line with little success, and he's taken some ill-advised penalties...

A change of scenery could do the trick with these many teams looking for a change up front.

If Dalpe clears waivers, the Blue Jackets have the option to assign him to the AHL affiliate in Cleveland.
