Breaking: Coach Green issues injury update on Virtanen

Vancouver Canucks head coach Travis Green spoke to the media this morning after the team’s practice and offered an update on injured forward Jake Virtanen. Brace yourself Shotgun Jake fans… it ain’t good.

Virtanen, of course, took a nasty blind side hit from Anaheim Ducks captain Ryan Getzlaf last week and hasn’t played since.

With just 12 goals on the season, Virtanen would have to produce at nearly a goal per game pace when he returns if he’s to fulfill the Shotgun Jake prediction of 20 goals this season. RIP Shotgun Jake.
