The Pittsburgh Penguins have just received some very good news.

While there still has been no official announcement regarding his status for Game 5 of Stanley Cup playoff match up between the Washington Capitals and Pittsburgh Penguins, head coach Mike Sullivan has confirmed that the Penguins' captain Sidney Crosby has passed his concussion protocol.

This is huge news for the Penguins, and again while this does not mean he will play, it certainly has to be considered an extremely good sign. If Crosby is in fact cleared by medical staff, one has to imagine that it would take something incredible to keep him off the ice.

To add to the good news for the Pens, Conor Sheary has also passed his  baseline concussion test.

In contrast things seem to be falling apart for the Capitals today.
