BREAKING: Coach Plays Guessing Game

Head coach Jeff Blashill has revealed his intentions: only one more prospect will join the Detroit Red Wings ahead of the regular season schedule.

 

Anthony Mantha, who posted three goals in five games and Andreas Athanasiou, who scored a goal and added three assists in the same amount of exhibition matches, are both making a strong case for joining the team.

 

Head coach Jeff Blashill has made it clear, however, that only one of those two will be a part of the roster come Thursday night.

 

Mantha averaged 14:20 of ice-time while Athanasiou was slightly more utilized with an average of 16:55.

 

Earlier, Blashill had specified that he expected a lot more from both players, and the decision is therefore that much more difficult for him to make.
