Breaking: Connor McDavid suspended by the NHL!

The National Hockey League has made its decision and it surely will shock a few people...

Edmonton Oilers superstar and captain Connor McDavid has been suspended for two games for an illegal check to the head on New York Islanders defenseman Nick Leddy.

Two games for the best player in the league!

At the end of the first period of the contest between the Oilers and Isles last night, McDavid moved in close to the boards and seemed to deliberately catch Islanders defenseman Nick Leddy in the head with his shoulder.

Leddy was visibly shaken up as he attempted to get up with the help of the official. He seemed shocked that the Oilers captain was behind the hit. McDavid was penalized on the play.

The young star was just back in action, after missing a game with a virus on Tuesday night against the Arizona Coyotes.

As many people commented on social media, if Washington Capitals forward Tom Wilson was behind this type of hit, he would be suspended for several games.

With this two-game suspension, McDavid will forfeit 134K as he sits in the press box to think about his actions. It is his first NHL suspension. He will be eligible to return to action on Wednesday against the Toronto Maple Leafs.

It seems like the NHL is sending a message and treating everyone alike!
