Pittsburgh Penguins captain Sidney Crosby registered a point on his team first goal of the game against the Minnesota Wild on Thursday night. This point was Croby's 1,080th point in the NHL, which made him pass Jaromir Jagr to take sole possession of second place on the Penguins all-time scoring list. Crosby registered an other point on Evgeni Malkin power play goal, and Pittsburgh are currently leading 2-0 after the first period.

Drafted first overall by the Penguins in 2005, Crosby 17 goals and 37 assists for a total of 52 points in 51 games played so far this season. He now has 1,081 points in 833 games played in the NHL.

The Penguins were fifth in the Metropolitan division with a record of 26-21-3 before tonight's game. They won seven of their last ten games.
