The Philadelphia Flyers appear to have lost an important player for the remainder of the season.

According to Sam Carchidi of the Philadelphia Inquirer, Flyers' forward Michael Raffl has likely suffered a season-ending injury, as per team GM Ron Hextall.

Raffl suffered a lower-body injury during the Flyers' last game against the Colorado Avalanche, and it appears that the ailment is much more serious than originally anticipated.

The 28-year old Austrian native has perviously been a solid contributor for the club, but has suffered a down season in 2016-17.

The winger has recorded 8 goals and 3 assists for 11 points in 52 contests.

It appears that the team will have to wait until next season to have him back in the lineup.
