A beloved former National Hockey League player has just thrown an already controversial NHL head coach under the bus in his new book.

Former star forward Daniel Briere has recently put together an autobiography and in that book he reveals a shocking story about former Montreal Canadiens head coach Michel Therrien.

According to a report from Antoine Deshaies of Radio-Canada, Briere reveals an incident that once took place between him and Therrien in which Therrien verbally berated him.

Translated from Radio-Canada:

<< When I entered the room, [Therrien} once again began beratting me while showing me video of the game... He finished by saying: "There is no one in the room that respects you! There is no one who wants to play with you!" It was said in incredibly cruel fashion. >>

This would seem like a rather ludicrous story if any other coach had been named but Therrien, however given the shocking rumors that have floated around the league about him in the past, we are ready to believe Briere is telling the truth.

Keep in mind this is a man who was accused of both calling Max Pacioretty the worst captain in the league while he was still the head coach of the Canadiens, and the same man who was accused of using a racial slur to describe P.K. Subban. Neither of these rumors were ever confirmed, but were both reported by a number of outlets at the time.

Damning words from Briere to say the least, and words that could seriously hurt Therrien's chance of getting another NHL job.
