The Detroit Red Wings have called up 21-year-old forward Dominic Turgeon from the Grand Rapids Griffin.
This roster moves comes just minutes after the team announced that Justin Abdelkader and Darren Helm suffered lower-body injuries in today's 4-1 loss against the Pittsburgh Penguins.
The 6-foot-2, 203-pound forward will make his NHL debut tomorrow, against the Chicago Blackhawks.
The Cherry Hills, CO native amassed 23 points in 40 games in the American Hockey League this season. He was selected in the third round of the 2014 NHL draft by Detroit.
