DEVASTATING injury report regarding one former Leafs first round pick.

On first round (21 overall) of the 2013 NHL Entry Draft, the Toronto Maple Leafs were proud the select Frederik Gauthier.

A 6ft5, 235 pounds promising center described by some scouting report found on Hockey’s Future as “a polished prospect who combines great size with a mature game at both ends of the ice. The same on-ice vision and hockey sense that makes him a dangerous contributor at the offensive side of the game serves him well in breaking up opposing plays in his own zone. He is strong on the cycle, skates well and uses his size to win battles. Gauthier is very good in the face-off circle. Though he may never be a top offensive threat, he has too many tools to ignore.”

A devastating injury report on former Leafs' first round pick written by Bob McKenzie confirms, “AHL suspends SYR D Jake Dotchin 3 playoff games for late hit on TOR Freddy Gauthier, who is out for up to 6 months."

Six-month timeline would take it to November and Gauthier would obviously still be well behind in terms of strength and conditioning.” Added McKenzie.
