Breaking: Devastating update on Colin White after big preseason injury last night.
Keystone Press

We have a major injury update, and unfortunately it's devastating news for the Ottawa Senators.

On Monday night during a preseason game between the Ottawa Senators and Toronto Maple Leafs, 20-year-old Senators center Colin White was struck by a hard shot from a one-timer slap shot at the blue line.

The impact knocked White to the ground and he was in obvious pain as he limped off the ice and headed to the locker room, and now we officially know why he looked to be in such distress.

Senators general manager Pierre Dorion has informed the media that White has suffered a broken left risk as a result of that shot, and is now expected to miss the next six to eight weeks while he recovers from the injury.

Needless to say this is not the way any team wants to kick off their preseason, and you have to feel for White who looked poised to get his first real big shot in the National Hockey League this season.
