Breaking: Division rival Pens and Blue Jackets hook up on a minor trade

Earlier today the Los Angeles Kings and Montreal Canadiens hooked up on a deal with Nate Thompson heading to the Habs in exchange for a slight pick upgrade. Just hours later the Pittsburgh Penguins and Columbus Blue Jackets have lit up the trade phone with a deal of their own.

Heading to Pittsburgh is defenseman Blake Siedbenaler for a conditional 2019 pick.

UPDATE: The Blue Jackets have now confirmed the deal.

TRADE: #CBJ have acquired a conditional pick in the 2019 NHL Draft from Pittsburgh in exchange for D Blake Siebenaler. Siebenaler had 1-1-2, 6 PIM in 17 games with @monstershockey this season.
