Yesterday we reported on an unofficial injury that appeared to be serious and now we have confirmation.

An absolutely cursed year continues for the Dallas Stars with yet another one of their forwards now officially sidelined with a major injury. According to a report from Mike Heika of the Dallas Morning News forward Mattias Janmark will miss an incredible length of time as a result of a joint issue in his knee, an estimated five to six months.

The Stars do not expect him to return to action prior to April of 2017, needless to say this is a massive blow to a team that has already lost forwards to injury and even lost a restricted free agent forward to the KHL this summer.

For the 23 year old Janmark it has to be even more devastating coming off his big rookie season with Dallas that saw him record 15 goals and 24 assists. This will be a major setback in his NHL career, and one hopes that with a knee injury this severe it doesn't impede him for the long-term.
