The Edmonton Oilers have finally decided it’s time for Jesse Puljujarvi to get another shot in the NHL. Edmonton has recalled the top prospect from the American Hockey League and placed Anton Slepyshev on injured reserve to make room.

Slepyshev was expected to be back sooner, but his lower-body injury appears more serious that he has now been placed on IR.

Puljujarvi has recorded five points in 10 games in the AHL so far this season.  He leads Bakersfield with 31 shots on goal through the first games of the season.

Last year with the Oilers, the 19-year-old amassed a goal and eight points.

The Oilers face the New York Rangers on Saturday afternoon.

A second chance for the kid to make a better impression!
