Breaking: Ducks' Ritchie gets away with dirty cheap hit on Backes!

Anaheim Ducks' Nick Ritchie caught Boston Bruins veteran David Backes late on Tuesday, and many believe the big forward will hear about it.

Ritchie did not get penalized on the play as he hit Backed high and late. The Bruins forward took a long time to get back up and headed to the dressing room as soon as he managed to make it back to the bench.

Many fans and experts are claiming that the hit was late on Backes, but some say it's hard to tell if he targeted his head.

No penalty on that Backes hit is an absolute joke. Mcquaid or Miller have to run Ritchie before this is over

Ritchie not ejected... wasn't a hit to the head. Saw replay a few times, Ritchie hits Backes in shoulder, I believe, which knocks his head. Backes went to the room.

Hard to see just how high that Ritchie check caught Backes on the replays, but it was definitely a beat or two late with the play right in front of him and the puck gone. No penalty

Zdeno Chara and Ryan Getzlaf were ready to drop the gloves after the hit, but the linesmen quickly put an end to the scuffle.
