Breaking: Ehlers named NHL’s 1st Star

Winnipeg Jets forward Nikolaj Ehlers has been named the NHL’s 1st Star for the week of Oct 9th - 15th.

The Danish superstar in the making potted five goals and seven points in the Jets’ three consecutive victories during the week. Ehlers’ natural hat-trick in the Jets’ 5-2 victory over the Edmonton Oilers was the team’s first in franchise history, excluding the two occasions from their time as the Atlanta Thrashers.

In five games so far this season, Ehlers has five goals and seven point and the sky looks to be the limit for the 21-year old. In 82 games last season he put up a respectable 25 goals and 64 points. What’s a realistic expectation this year? 30+ goals and 70+ points?
