In mid-February we were treated to one of the most violent games of this National Hockey League season between the Pittsburgh Penguins and Winnipeg Jets, a game some believe was in fact by far the most physical of the 2016-2017 campaign thus far.

The game saw a number of questionable hits from both teams and a number of players including Penguins Justin Schultz and Olli Maatta, and Jet Blake Wheeler were forced to leave the ice after being shaken up. As a result many expected the rematch to produce some major fireworks and so far the signs seem to indicate that will indeed be the case.

The rematch which is set for Wednesday night in the NHL has already seen it's first shot fired across the bow, with the Pittsburgh Penguins sending the Jets a clear message by dressing enforcer Tom Sestito this evening. Asked why he was being brought into the line up, Sestito gave a rather comical answer.

"Uh, I thought it was for my goal-scoring, probably," said Sestito as per Ted Wyman of the Winnipeg Sun.

Jets tough guy Chris Thorburn says he's ready to answer the challenge.

"It catches your attention a little bit. I’d probably be the only one to address that."

Prepare for fireworks this evening ladies and gentlemen.
