Breaking: Fight breaks out between NHL teammates during practice on Monday morning

It's falling apart.

Well at least they are showing some kind of fight.

Late last night I reported on the level of dysfunction that appeared to be going in the St. Louis Blues' locker room after some rather poignant and damning comments from some of the organizations top players coming off the heels of an embarrassing loss to the Vancouver Canucks.

The Blues allowed 3 first period goals on just 6 shots resulting in veteran goaltender Jake Allen being pulled less than a single period after his first shutout of the 2018 - 2019 NHL regular season. The bleeding did not stop there however as the Blues would continue to be dominated by the Canucks, eventually allowing 6 goals in total and losing by a margin of 6 - 1.

Unsurprisingly after the game member of the Blues roster were not the least bit happy but surprisingly they made very little effort to hide that fact from the media, speaking very candidly about the current state of their organization.

"I apologize to all our fans," said Vladimir Tarasenko. "We can’t play at home like this. I don’t know how to fix it. We work on it but it doesn’t work for now."

It was veteran forward Brayden Schenn however who made the most scathing comments of all however, by a large margin no less, when he absolutely roasted his team calling them fragile for the way they have been playing.

"We’re a fragile group," said Schenn. It comes with losing."

As I stated those were some rather damning comments from the players and it did not take very long for tempers to finally boil over on Monday. According to a report from Blues insider Jeremy Rutherford there was an altercation today during the Blues practice between forward Zach Sanford and defenseman Robert Bortuzzzo in which punches were exchanged between the two men. Needless to say you don't wanna see this kind of dysfunction on your team at any time, but if I'm a Blues fan I'm at least happy about the fact that the players are emotionally invested in the fact that they have  been so bad this season.

Update: We have a video of the incident now. After seeing the video this looks like a mugging by Bortuzzo and not a fight at all.
