Unbelievable.

This is an unmitigated disaster.

There are now multiple reports that are indicating that former first round pick Robby Fabbri has once again suffered an injury in the preseason. This has to feel like the worst kind of deja vu for the St. Louis Blues organization and their fan base considering what happened almost exactly one year ago. Back in September of 2017 Fabbri re-aggravated an existing injury to his knee and that injury turned out to be so severe that the young center did not play a single game during the 2017 - 2018 National Hockey League regular season.

It's not clear if the injury that was suffered today is in any way related to his reoccurring knee injury but we now have official confirmation from the St. Louis Blues that he is indeed injured although at this time we do not know the extent of Fabbri's injuries. Needless to say if he is to be out for a significant period of time once again this could seriously damage his career as a player in the National Hockey League.

The reaction from Blues fans on social media to the announcement speaks volumes about just how far out of favor Fabbri has fallen as a result of his constant injuries with many fans calling for him to be traded off the roster all together. It's understandable given the fact that Fabbri has appeared in just a total of 123 NHL games since being drafted all the way back in 2014 and although the 22 year old is still considered by many to be a very legitimate talent another serious injury could seriously derail that perception.

Perhaps most frustrating of all for fans of the Blues is that in spite of his injuries Fabbri was connected to significant trade discussions during the course of the 2017 - 2018 NHL regular season and although the Blues would certainly not have gotten full value for an injured player his value may drop off the edge of a cliff if this injury proves to be significant.

The 22 year old former first round pick has a career total of 29 goials and 37 assists for a total of 66 career points over his 123 games played so there's no doubt that he can play, but there are serious questions now about whether or not he can remain healthy enough to even make it to the games.

The Blues have indicated that Mike Yeo may provide an update after the game and we will bring that to you if it is indeed made available.
