Breaking: First round power forward signs a new deal
Keystone Press

AS first reported by Arizona Coyotes beat reporter Sarah McLellan, the Arizona Coyotes have announced that they’ve signed unrestricted free-agent forward Emerson Etem to a one-year, two-way contract. Financial details of the agreement have not yet been released.

The 25 year-old Etem missed almost the entire 2016-17 season as a result of a knee injury and subsequent knee surgery. The 6’1”, 212 lb forward played only three games for the Ducks, but did manage 58 games split between the New York Rangers and Vancouver Canucks in 2015-16. The big power forward managed seven goals and 15 points during that campaign and has shown flashes of elite level offensive skill.

The Coyotes are hopeful that the former 29th overall selection in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft can finally put all his tools to good use this upcoming season and establish himself as an NHL regular for the team.
