Breaking: Flames and Oilers fighting over the same free agent.

Earlier today TSN Darren Dreger reported that the Edmonton Oilers were making a push for free agent Czech defenseman Jan Rutta but now he has revealed they have competition from one of their most bitter rivals. 

Dreger is now reporting that the Calgary Flames are also in on Rutta, something that will likely only add to the rivalry between the two franchises should one of them secure the 26-year-old defenseman.

Rutta is a right-handed shot and is coming off a strong season in the Czech league. It sounds like he will have his pick of where to sign as Dreger is reporting several teams have already presented him an offer.
