Breaking: Flames announce jersey retirement for legend Jarome Iginla

The Calgary Flames are expected to announce tomorrow that legendary former captain Jarome Iginla’s #12 will be sent to the rafters of Scotiabank Saddledome.

In other words, the team will retire Iginla’s jersey.

According to a report from Pat Steinberg of Sportsnet 960 the ceremony will take place March 2nd against the Minnesota Wild.

This is an honor that’s obviously well deserved. Iginla is the franchise’ all time leader in games played, goals and points.
