Breaking: Flames call up top prospect from AHL

The Calgary Flames have announced that they’ve recalled forward Mark Jankowski from the AHL’s Stockton Heat.

The 23-year-old center is a former 1st round pick (21st overall) from the 2012 NHL Entry Draft and has put up 27 goals and 56 points in 64 career AHL games. The big, 6’4”, 202 lb center is expected to center the team’s 3rd line, bumping Sam Bennett down to the team’s 4th line.

With trade rumors swirling around Bennett, this can’t help the youngster’s stock. In any case, Jankowski has proven himself worth of the call up with five goals and eights points already in just six games with Stockton this season.
