The Philadelphia Flyers have sent down forward Tyrell Goulbourne to the Lehigh Valley Phantoms, the team announced on Friday. He played nine games in the NHL this season, without registering a point.

In 34 games played at the AHL level this season, the 24 year-old forward scored six goals and four assists for a total of ten points. Drafted 72nd overall by Philadelphia in 2013, Goulbourne produced a total of 28 points in 132 games played in the AHL (regular season and playoffs included).

The Flyers are also hoping that goaltender Brian Elliott will be able to play Tuesday against the Carolina Hurricanes, or at least resume practicing with the team. He was placed in the injured reserve on January 30th, with what has been reported as a lower-body injury. Flyers general manager Ron Hextall already confirmed that Elliott won't be able to play tomorrow against the Ottawa Senators

The Flyers are currently fifth in the Metropolitan division with a record of 24-19-8. They lost their last game by a score of 4-3 against the New Jersey Devils last night.

ICYMI : Radko Gudas knocked Devils forward Kyle Palmieri with a WWE type hit last night, and had to answer his actions by dropping the gloves against Travis Zajac.
