The Philadelphia Flyers have activated defenseman Andrew MacDonald from the injured reserve, the team announced on Monday. He has missed the last 15 games with a leg injury, but was paired with Ivan Provorov during Sunday's practice. There's no official word on his status for tonight's game against the Pittsburgh Penguins.
MacDonald, 31, was drafted 160th overall by the New York Islanders in 2006. The Flyers acquired him via trade in 2014. He played 481 games in the NHL, registering 132 points, and added three points in 17 playoff games.
Prior to his injury, the Judique, Nova Scotia native has scored one goal in eight games this season.
