Breaking: Flyers make a Thanksgiving day AHL call up

The Philadelphia Flyers have announced that they’ve recalled forward Tyrell Goulbourne from the AHL’s Lehigh Valley Phantoms. In a corresponding move, they’ve assigned forward Nic Aube-Kubel back down to the Phantoms.

The Flyers have recalled LW Tyrell Goulbourne from Lehigh Valley and loaned RW Nic Aube-Kubel to @LVPhantoms.

In 10 games with the Phantoms, the 24 year old Goulbourne has just one goal and four points, but he also has 29 penalty minutes. He’s a tough customer who could add some grit to the Flyers’ fourth line.

As for Aube-Kubel, the 22 year old has gone pointless in nine games with the Flyers, following a torrid point per game pace in the AHL to start the season. The young winger had 18 goals and 46 points in 72 games with the Phantoms last season so there’s reason to believe that he can put up points, he just needs to regain some confidence in the AHL.
