The Philadelphia Flyers have lost one of their top young players.

General manager Ron Hextall confirmed on Tuesday via the Flyers official website that 19-year-old rookie forward Travis Konency would miss the next four to six weeks of action as a result of the injury he suffered on Monday night against the St. Louis blues.

The injury occurred when Konecny appeared to lose his balance, something that sent him crashing into the boards rather awkwardly. While Hextall and the Flyers would only state that it was a lower-body injury, sources reported yesterday that it was believed to be a knee and ankle sprain of unknown severity.
