Veteran Scottie Upshall was looking for a second chance in the National Hockey League and it looks like he's got it.

According to Sportsnet's Dan Murphy, Upshall has accepted a professional tryout from the Vancouver Canucks.

The 33-year-old spent the last two seasons with the St. Louis Blues. Last year, he recorded 10 goals, eight assists and 45 penalty minutes in 73 games.

Upshall will need to fight to crack the Canucks' roster, since the team currently has a lot of forwards in the lineup, the Sedin Twins, Loui Eriksson, Brandon Sutter, Sam Gagner, Thomas Vanek, Derek Dorsett, to name a few. And all the young prospects looking to rebuild the club.

There is a lot of players Upshall will have to beat out just to earn a spot on the roster.
