Breaking: Former 20+ goal scorer returns home on a PTO
Keystone Press

The Florida Panthers have announced that they’ve signed center Brandon Pirri to a professional try-out contract. The 26-year-old played 60 games for the New York Rangers last season putting up eight goals and 18 points. His career high, fittingly enough, came with the Panthers in 2014-15 where he put up a remarkable 22 goals in 49 games.

While Pirri signed a one-year deal with the ZSC Lions in Switzerland earlier this offseason, it’s expected that his contract contains an out-clause that allows him to sign an NHL contract.

It’s clear that Pirri can put the puck in the net, but does he have the skating skill and defensive ability to play a regular role in the NHL?
