The Sabres made an announcement on Tuesday that will please several fans in Buffalo.

Netminder Martin Biron is joining the Sabres broadcast team. The team made it official on their Twitter account.

Drafted by the Sabres in the first round (16th overall) of the 1995 NHL Entry Draft, Biron spent the first half of his 16-year National Hockey League career with the Sabres, later having stints with the Philadelphia Flyers, New York Islanders and New York Rangers.

Biron used his own Twitter account to express his excitement for this new opportunity.

It's a refreshing return un the NHL for Biron, who announced his retirement in 2013, choosing retirement over playing in the minor leagues. He ended his career with a 230–191–25–27 record, 2.62 goals against average and a .910 save percentage.
