Breaking: Former first-round pick reportedly close to sign a new deal!

The Colorado Avalanche are reportedly close to sign a new deal with Nikita Zadorov, a 6-foot-5, 230-pound defenseman that was selected16th overall in the 2013 NHL draft, according to Avs insider Adrian Dater.

Zadorov was acquired in the trade that sent Ryan O'Reilly to the Buffalo Sabres, back in 2015. He played 145 games in the NHL, in which he recorded four goals and 24 assists for 28 points, as well as 140 penalty minutes.
