A big trade could happen well before the deadline.

The latest segment of TSN's Insider Trading featured a number of revelations but perhaps none more pressing than the trade rumors surrounding 32-year-old veteran forward Patrick Eaves.

According to insider Darren Dreger, Eaves is currently generating "a ton of interest" on the trade market, so much so that Dreger doesn't expect Eaves to make it to the deadline.

"The belief is that Eaves, who is in his early 30's and is very affordable, clearly, isn't gonna make until next week's deadline."

Eaves is having one hell of a season with 21 goals and 16 assists in just 59 games and he's doing it with a salary cap hit of just $1 million dollars on an expiring deal, something that makes him that much more valuable.

Dreger adds that there are ten to twelve teams with interest in Eaves so expect him to move soon.
