The National Football League's biggest video game franchise will feature a former National Hockey League star this time around.

ESPN's Josh Cooper has just revealed that none other than former Calgary Flames star forward Theo Fleury will be featured not as a player, but as a singer in the upcoming Madden 18 video game.

Fleury who began a career as a country music singer following his retirement from the sport of hockey, had many doubters when he announced his decision to begin a musical career, but this has to feel like a huge win for him.

According to Cooper his song "Longshot," a song Fleury wrote with Phil Deschambault. will be featured in the games story mode. Here's how the former NHL star describes the song in his own words.

"I want to feel some vulnerability from the person I'm listening to. I want to know something about them," said Fleury as per ESPN. "I've got lots of material. It's funny, because most people come to our shows out of pure curiosity. The other people [there] are people who have experienced trauma in their lives. I know that both groups leave with a lot of hope and inspiration and they're pleasantly surprised at the kind of stuff that we put out there."
