The Pittsburgh Penguins have announced that assistant general manager Bill Guerin has been promoted within the organization and will now be the general manager of the team’s AHL affiliate, the Wilkes-Barre Scanton Penguins.

Guerin receives the promotion as a result of his three stellar seasons and two Stanley Cups on the Penguins staff. Prior to joining the team’s management group, Guerin was a member of the 2009 Stanley Cup winning Penguins team and a veteran of over 1200 NHL games. His illustrious playing career is highlighted by two Stanley Cup championships, an Olympic silver medal and a World Cup of Hockey championship.
