Breaking: Former NHL goaltender reportedly announces his retirement!

Former NHL goaltender Cédrick Desjardins is reportedly expected to announce his retirement from professional hockey, per minor hockey insider Charles Lalande.

According to him, Desjardins suffered a few injuries over the past years, and now wants to focus on his family. He admittedly would have liked to play in Europe, but there were no real opportunities for him.

The 31-year-old goaltender signed with the Montreal Canadiens AHL affiliate team as an undrafted free agent, back in 2006. He then played in the AHL for seasons before being recalled in the NHL for the first time by the Tampa Bay Lightning. He played a total of six games with them between 2010 and 2014.
