Former NHL STAR and Stanley Cup winner declined GM job interview

The Sabres asked the permission to interview former NHL STAR Chris Drury.

As reported by The Buffalo News, “The Sabres asked the New York Rangers for permission to interview their assistant GM, but Drury and the Rangers decided it’s not yet time for the move, Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman reported. Drury is in his first season as New York’s assistant GM after serving as director of player personnel last year.”

Chris Drury played 12 seasons in the NHL with the Colorado Avalanche, the Calgary Flames, the Buffalo Sabres and the New York Rangers. He scored 255 goals and registered 360 assists for a total of 615 points in 892 games. He won the Stanley Cup with the Colorado Avalanches in 2001 where he scored the game-winning goal.

Rangers reached out this am … indicated organization declined requests, not Drury.” as reported by Elliotte Friedman.
