Breaking: Former Rangers’ Girardi set to sign with new team

TSN reporter and NHL insider Bob McKenzie has released an early report in advance of the opening of today’s NHL free-agency period that former New York Rangers defenseman Dan Girardi has signed with the Tampa Bay Lightning.

What’s surprising is that McKenzie reports that Girardi will actually be paid MORE per season in his new deal than the deal the Rangers bought-out. Incredible. Nothing is confirmed yet, but check out this report from McKenzie himself:
